Artist Statement

In the second quarter of the junior year of my high school career, I decided that I wanted to dress up as other people and take photos. At the time I had no inspiration, and did not know what I was really doing, but the more I got into the project the more I saw the alter egos within myself. It was interesting and fun to dress up and present the characters that play a part in who I am as a whole.

Over the course of the project, I got more interested in make up, and soon afterwards, I got introduced to the work of Cindy Sherman, who played a huge role in the development of the characters. The process of creating and taking photos of these characters was tedious; but, the more effort I spent on them, the better things got and I was pushed to do more.

Third quarter was hard for me, especially because I lost my grandmother, who plays a huge role in who I am, so it made me even more determined to bring these characters to life. I worked on Photoshop editing, and creating a background that would fit all the characters. I hope you enjoy
